A fun way for children to learn about sewage treatment

The cycle of water and waste

What happens to the waste you flush down the toilet? And what is actually okay to flush? With interactive virtual tours children can learn about the whole process in a fun and engaging way, both in school and at home.

What happens to the waste you flush down the toilet? And what is actually okay to flush?
These questions are often taught in school, but it can be quite difficult for children to get their head around it without actually seeing the process.

Together with Sörmland Vatten, we developed an interactive virtual tour of one of their sewage treatment plants – Rosenholm’s treatment plant, in which both teachers and parents can invite children to explore and learn.

Characters and features

During this web-based experience, the children are guided by Drippy – one of the water droplets that lives at the treatment plant, who tells them how the water cycle works and what really happens with the waste we flush down the toilet.

Using features such as e-learning and letter hunting, this virtual tour becomes fun and engaging for children while learning about a process they will benefit from for the rest of their lives.
